Ingredients
- 4 slices white sandwich bread (or toast bread)
- 4 slices Fontina (thicker slices)
- 16 cherry tomatoes
- olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly wash the cherry tomatoes under running water.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 3. Lightly grease a baking dish with some oil.
- 4. Place the washed cherry tomatoes into the prepared dish.
- 5. Brush the tomatoes with some oil.
- 6. Cook the tomatoes in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 7. Toast the bread slices briefly in a toaster or pan until they are slightly crunchy.
- 8. Remove the baking dish with the tomatoes from the oven when they are done.
- 9. Top the pre-toasted bread slices with slices of Fontina cheese.
- 10. Distribute the warm cherry tomatoes evenly over the cheese.
- 11. Place the topped toast slices onto a baking sheet.
- 12. Bake the toasts in the hot oven for about 5 minutes until the cheese is completely melted.
- 13. Serve the toasts immediately while still hot.
