  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the cherry tomatoes under running water.
  2. 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  3. 3. Lightly grease a baking dish with some oil.
  4. 4. Place the washed cherry tomatoes into the prepared dish.
  5. 5. Brush the tomatoes with some oil.
  6. 6. Cook the tomatoes in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. 7. Toast the bread slices briefly in a toaster or pan until they are slightly crunchy.
  8. 8. Remove the baking dish with the tomatoes from the oven when they are done.
  9. 9. Top the pre-toasted bread slices with slices of Fontina cheese.
  10. 10. Distribute the warm cherry tomatoes evenly over the cheese.
  11. 11. Place the topped toast slices onto a baking sheet.
  12. 12. Bake the toasts in the hot oven for about 5 minutes until the cheese is completely melted.
  13. 13. Serve the toasts immediately while still hot.
