  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius for conventional heating. If you use a fan oven, set it to 180 degrees Celsius. For gas ovens, set the knob to level 3.
  2. 2. Place a frying pan on the stove and set the heat to medium.
  3. 3. Place the bread slices into the hot pan.
  4. 4. Toast one side of the bread until it is lightly golden brown.
  5. 5. Remove the bread slices from the pan.
  6. 6. Spread butter evenly over the untoasted side of each bread slice.
  7. 7. Place a slice of ham on the buttered side.
  8. 8. Place a piece of pineapple on top of the ham.
  9. 9. Top the pineapple with cheese.
  10. 10. Place the topped breads onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven.
  12. 12. Bake the toasts for about 14 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  13. 13. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven.
  14. 14. Place each Toast Hawaii onto its own plate.
  15. 15. Insert a cocktail cherry into the center of each toast as decoration.
