Ingredients
- 5 Eggs
- 80 g Sugar
- 500 g Mascarpone
- 200 ml cold Coffee
- 40 ml Brandy (or Marsala or Almond Liqueur)
- 20 Ladyfingers
- Cocoa Powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Do not preheat the oven, as this dessert is prepared cold.
- 2. Separate the eggs: Carefully remove the yolk from the white.
- 3. Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy (best done with a hand mixer).
- 4. Stir the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk-sugar mixture until everything is smooth.
- 5. Whip the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
- 6. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the cheese cream to maintain the airy texture.
- 7. Mix the coffee with the brandy in a shallow dish.
- 8. Dip the ladyfinger biscuits briefly into the coffee mixture (do not soak too long, or they will fall apart).
- 9. Place the soaked biscuits in a shallow dish (approx. 18x25 cm) to form a first layer.
- 10. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the biscuit layer and smooth it out.
- 11. Create a second layer using more briefly dipped biscuits.
- 12. Spread the remaining cream evenly over the top biscuit layer.
- 13. Place the tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
- 14. Dust the finished dessert evenly with cocoa powder before serving.
