  1. 1. Peel the orange completely. Remove the white pith as well. Slice the fruit flesh into thin rounds.
  2. 2. Wash the cucumber thoroughly. Slice it lengthwise into very thin slices. You can also use a peeler to shave it thinly.
  3. 3. Peel the onions. Dice them into very small, fine cubes.
  4. 4. Pour the lime juice and oil into a small bowl. Whisk the mixture well.
  5. 5. Season the lime-oil mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Rinse the tuna steaks under running water. Pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel.
  7. 7. Heat a grill pan over high heat. Add a little oil.
  8. 8. Place the tuna steaks in the hot pan. Sear them briefly on both sides over high heat.
  9. 9. Ensure the inside of the fish remains raw. Remove the steaks from the pan.
  10. 10. Season the tuna steaks immediately with salt and pepper.
  11. 11. Take large plates. Arrange the cucumber slices and orange slices on them.
  12. 12. Place one tuna steak on top of the salad.
  13. 13. Sprinkle the fine onion cubes over the steaks.
  14. 14. Drizzle the lime vinaigrette over the dish.
  15. 15. Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves as desired.
  16. 16. Add lime wedges as decoration on the plate.
