🍽️ Spicy Tuna Wonton Pockets

Ingredients
- 350 g tuna fillet
- 20 g ginger (1 piece)
- 1 small garlic clove
- 1 small chili pepper
- 0.5 lime
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 16 wonton wrappers
- 1 tsp rapeseed oil
- Thai basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the tuna under cold water.
- 2. Pat the fish completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the tuna into very small, fine cubes.
- 4. Place the tuna cubes into a large bowl.
- 5. Peel the ginger root and the garlic cloves.
- 6. Mince the ginger and garlic very finely.
- 7. Slice the chili pepper in half lengthwise.
- 8. Remove the seeds and white pith from the chili.
- 9. Rinse the deseeded chili carefully.
- 10. Mince the chili very finely as well.
- 11. Squeeze the juice from the lime.
- 12. Add the minced ginger to the tuna.
- 13. Add the minced garlic to the tuna.
- 14. Add the minced chili to the tuna.
- 15. Add one teaspoon of sesame seeds to the tuna.
- 16. Season the mixture with a little soy sauce.
- 17. Add one teaspoon of lime juice to the mixture.
- 18. Mix all ingredients for the filling well together.
- 19. Place the wonton wrappers one by one onto your work surface.
- 20. Brush the edges of the wonton wrappers with a little water.
- 21. Place a portion of the tuna filling in the center of a wrapper.
- 22. Fold the wonton wrapper into a triangle.
- 23. Press the edges of the triangle firmly together to seal them.
- 24. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- 25. Lightly oil the steamer insert or bamboo steamer.
- 26. Place half of the wontons into the steamer insert.
- 27. Place the steamer insert into the pot over the boiling water.
- 28. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 29. Steam the wontons for 8 minutes.
- 30. Remove the steamer insert and repeat the process with the remaining wontons.
- 31. Stir the remaining soy sauce in a small bowl.
- 32. Add the remaining sesame seeds to the soy sauce.
- 33. Serve the wontons with the sesame-soy sauce dip on the side.
- 34. Sprinkle the finished wontons with a little sesame seed if desired.
- 35. Garnish the dish with fresh basil.
