🍽️ Classic Apple Tarte Tatin

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 100 g cold butter
- 1 egg
- 600 g apples
- 75 g butter
- 200 g sugar
Instructions
- 1. Mound the flour onto a clean work surface.
- 2. Mix the flour with salt and sugar.
- 3. Press a well into the center of the flour mixture.
- 4. Cut the cold butter into small cubes.
- 5. Distribute the butter cubes around the well.
- 6. Place the egg in the center of the well.
- 7. Chop all ingredients roughly with a knife until small crumbs form.
- 8. Quickly knead the crumbs together with your hands to form a dough.
- 9. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 10. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
- 11. Store the dough in a cool place for about 30 minutes.
- 12. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 13. Quarter the apples.
- 14. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 15. Grease the tart pan with 50 grams of butter.
- 16. Spread a thick layer of about 100 grams of sugar over the butter.
- 17. Place the apple quarters closely together on top of the sugar.
- 18. Place the cake pan on the stove and heat it over medium heat.
- 19. Let the pan heat for about 15 minutes.
- 20. Remove the pan from the stove as soon as the sugar starts to caramelize.
- 21. Let the pan cool down briefly.
- 22. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the apples.
- 23. Distribute the remaining butter in small flakes over the sugar.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees.
- 25. Select the top and bottom heat setting.
- 26. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- 27. Carefully place the dough circle over the apples.
- 28. Press the dough edges down into the pan.
- 29. Place the tart in the preheated oven.
- 30. Bake the tart for about 30 minutes.
- 31. Take the tart out of the oven.
- 32. Let the tart cool down briefly.
- 33. Invert the tart onto a cake plate.
- 34. Serve the tart lukewarm.
