🍽️ Chicken Skewers with Tamarind Marinade

Ingredients
- 400 g small chicken breast fillets (4 small chicken breast fillets)
- 2 limes
- 2 tsp paprika powder (mild sweet)
- a little cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste (from the jar)
- 5 tbsp ketchup
- 275 g tomatoes (4 tomatoes)
- 125 g red onion
- 1 red chili pepper
- 400 g avocado (2 avocados)
- 0.5 bunch cilantro
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Place the wooden skewers in a container of water.
- 2. Thoroughly wash the chicken breast fillets.
- 3. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Cut the chicken meat into approx. 2 cm cubes.
- 5. Halve the limes.
- 6. Squeeze the juice from the limes.
- 7. Thread the meat cubes onto the soaked skewers one by one.
- 8. Put paprika powder into a small bowl.
- 9. Add cayenne pepper.
- 10. Add 3 tablespoons of lime juice.
- 11. Add tamarind paste to the bowl.
- 12. Add ketchup.
- 13. Mix all ingredients for the marinade well together.
- 14. Turn the meat skewers in the marinade so they are well coated.
- 15. Cover the skewers with cling film.
- 16. Place the skewers in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- 17. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 18. Cut the tomatoes into quarters.
- 19. Cut out the hard stem areas from the tomato pieces.
- 20. Remove the seeds from the tomato quarters.
- 21. Cut each tomato quarter in half crosswise.
- 22. Peel the onions.
- 23. Dice the onions coarsely.
- 24. Halve the chili pepper lengthwise.
- 25. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper.
- 26. Rinse the deseeded chili pepper carefully.
- 27. Finely chop the chili pepper.
- 28. Halve the avocados.
- 29. Remove the pits from the avocado halves.
- 30. Carefully scoop the avocado flesh out of the skin with a spoon.
- 31. Cut the avocado flesh into coarse cubes.
- 32. Wash the coriander.
- 33. Shake the coriander dry.
- 34. Pluck the coriander leaves from the stems.
- 35. Chop the coriander leaves.
- 36. Add 1 tablespoon of lime juice to the coriander.
- 37. Put the prepared tomatoes into a bowl.
- 38. Add the diced onions.
- 39. Add the chopped chili pepper.
- 40. Add the avocado cubes.
- 41. Add the coriander with lime juice.
- 42. Season the salad with salt.
- 43. Season the salad with pepper.
- 44. Mix all ingredients for the salad well.
- 45. Preheat a grill pan or prepare the charcoal grill.
- 46. Set the heat to medium.
- 47. Place the marinated meat skewers on the hot grill surface.
- 48. Grill the skewers all around.
- 49. Grill the skewers for approx. 7 to 8 minutes.
- 50. Serve the grilled skewers with the avocado-tomato salad.
