🍳 Creamy Apple Spread

Ingredients
- 3 sour apples
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 40 g currants
- 2 tbsp fine oat flakes
- 3 tbsp beet syrup (dark)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apples and cut them into two halves.
- 2. Remove the core from the apple halves.
- 3. Roughly grate the apple halves.
- 4. Heat a pan and melt the butter in it.
- 5. Add the grated apples to the hot pan.
- 6. Toss the apples briefly in the pan.
- 7. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon over the apples.
- 8. Add the lemon juice.
- 9. Add the currants.
- 10. Let the mixture simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes on low heat.
- 11. Place the apple spread into bowls.
- 12. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon on top.
- 13. Sprinkle the oats on top.
- 14. Sweeten the spread to taste with syrup.
- 15. Serve the spread.
- 16. Optionally serve white bread alongside.
