🍽️ Sweet and Sour Turkey

Ingredients
- 325 g Turkey breast fillet
- 1 red bell pepper
- 125 g small carrots (2 small carrots)
- 1 red onion
- 25 g ginger (1 piece)
- 1 piece pineapple (or 175 g pineapple flesh)
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt
- 150 ml orange juice
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 75 ml ketchup
- 1 tbsp honey
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the turkey meat under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Cut the meat into cubes of about 2 cm.
- 4. Wash the bell pepper and cut it into quarters.
- 5. Remove the seeds from the bell pepper.
- 6. Dice the deseeded bell pepper.
- 7. Peel the carrots.
- 8. Cut the carrots into thin strips.
- 9. Peel the onion.
- 10. Cut the onion into eight large wedges.
- 11. Peel the ginger.
- 12. Cut the ginger into thin strips.
- 13. Remove the hard skin and core from the pineapple.
- 14. Cut the pineapple flesh into chunks.
- 15. Heat the oil in a wok or a large frying pan.
- 16. Add the meat cubes to the hot pan.
- 17. Lightly salt the meat.
- 18. Fry the meat on all sides over high heat.
- 19. Remove the fried meat from the pan.
- 20. Add the onions, carrots, and bell pepper to the pan.
- 21. Fry the vegetables, stirring, for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 22. Add the ginger strips.
- 23. Sauté the ginger briefly.
- 24. Add the orange juice to the pan.
- 25. Add the vinegar to the pan.
- 26. Add the ketchup to the pan.
- 27. Add the honey to the pan.
- 28. Let the sauce boil for about 1 minute.
- 29. Return the fried meat to the pan.
- 30. Add the pineapple chunks.
- 31. Let everything simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- 32. Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.
- 33. Serve the dish with brown rice.
