  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the sweet potatoes under running water.
  2. 2. Cut the sweet potatoes in half lengthwise.
  3. 3. Place the halves in a baking dish.
  4. 4. Brush the sweet potatoes with oil.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat (180 degrees Celsius fan-forced or gas mark 3).
  6. 6. Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes until tender.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic while the potatoes are baking.
  8. 8. Finely chop the garlic.
  9. 9. Stir the butter and tahini (sesame paste) together in a bowl until creamy.
  10. 10. Add the lime juice, salt, cumin, and pepper to the butter mixture.
  11. 11. Season the baked sweet potatoes with salt and pepper.
  12. 12. Generously brush the sweet potatoes with the tahini butter mixture.
  13. 13. Turn off the oven and let the sweet potatoes melt for 10 minutes in the warm oven.
  14. 14. Wash the chives under running water.
  15. 15. Shake the chives dry.
  16. 16. Cut the chives into fine rings.
  17. 17. Rinse the lime.
  18. 18. Cut the lime into wedges.
  19. 19. Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven.
  20. 20. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chives over the sweet potatoes.
  21. 21. Serve the sweet potatoes with the remaining tahini butter and lime wedges.
