  1. 1. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly.
  2. 2. Peel the sweet potatoes.
  3. 3. Cut the sweet potatoes into small cubes.
  4. 4. Place the cubes in water with lemon juice for 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Bring water to a boil and add some salt.
  6. 6. Cook the sweet potatoes for 20 minutes until tender.
  7. 7. Puree the cooked sweet potatoes with a hand blender.
  8. 8. Place the pureed sweet potatoes in a bowl.
  9. 9. Add the eggs, butter, lime juice, cinnamon, vanilla, powdered sugar, and rum.
  10. 10. Knead the ingredients for 3 minutes to form a smooth dough.
  11. 11. Grease a 26 cm (10 inch) springform pan.
  12. 12. Pour the dough into the prepared pan.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
  14. 14. Bake the cake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
  15. 15. Insert a wooden skewer into the center to check if the cake is done.
  16. 16. Garnish the finished cake with two vanilla pods.
