🍽️ Sweet Quark Pockets

Ingredients
- 150 g Quark
- 6 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 Egg
- 2 packets Vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 300 g Flour
- 0.5 packet Baking powder
- 350 g Quark
- 3 tbsp Whipping cream
- 1 Egg
- 5 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Zest of one untreated lemon
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tbsp Milk
Instructions
- 1. Whisk quark, oil, egg, vanilla sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- 2. Add flour and baking powder, then knead the dough until smooth.
- 3. Whisk quark, cream, egg, sugar, and lemon zest together for the filling.
- 4. Lightly dust your work surface with flour.
- 5. Roll out the dough thinly (about as thick as a knife blade).
- 6. Cut squares with a side length of approx. 10 cm from the dough.
- 7. Place 1 tablespoon of the quark filling in the center of each square.
- 8. Whisk the egg yolk well with the milk.
- 9. Brush the corners of the dough pockets with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
- 10. Fold the corners inward and press the edges together lightly.
- 11. Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 12. Brush the surface of the pockets with the remaining egg yolk.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (conventional or fan-assisted).
- 14. Bake the pockets in the center of the oven for approx. 20 minutes.
- 15. Remove the pockets when they are nicely golden brown.
- 16. Let the pockets cool on the tray.
