🍰 Sweet Dumplings with Plum Filling

Ingredients
- 400 g floury potatoes
- 100 g flour
- 2 tbsp semolina
- 150 g soft butter
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 pinch salt
- 8 plums
- 8 sugar cubes
- flour (for the work surface)
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 30 minutes until tender.
- 3. Drain the water and peel the hot potatoes.
- 4. Press the hot potatoes through a potato ricer onto a board.
- 5. Let the potato mixture steam off briefly to cool down.
- 6. Add flour, semolina, 1 tablespoon of butter, 2 tablespoons of sugar, the egg yolk, and a pinch of salt to the potatoes.
- 7. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
- 8. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
- 9. Rinse the plums under running water.
- 10. Cut the plums open and remove the pits.
- 11. Insert a small piece of cube sugar into the hollow space of the plum.
- 12. Shape the potato dough into a roll about 5 centimeters thick.
- 13. Cut the roll into 8 to 10 equal pieces.
- 14. Flatten the dough pieces slightly.
- 15. Place a filled plum in the center of each dough piece.
- 16. Close the dough around the plum and shape a dumpling.
- 17. Put all dumplings into simmering water.
- 18. Cook the dumplings for about 20 minutes until done.
- 19. Melt the remaining butter in a large pan.
- 20. Fry the breadcrumbs in the butter until golden brown.
- 21. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 22. Stir the remaining sugar into the crumbs.
- 23. Lift the cooked dumplings out of the water with a slotted spoon.
- 24. Let the dumplings drain briefly.
- 25. Arrange the dumplings on plates.
- 26. Pour the breadcrumb butter over the dumplings.
- 27. Dust the dumplings with powdered sugar and serve.
