  1. 1. Heat the milk in a pot together with salt, butter, and sugar until the mixture boils.
  2. 2. Add the semolina and stir constantly until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
  3. 3. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool down briefly.
  4. 4. Stir the first egg into the warm semolina mixture.
  5. 5. Thoroughly mix the second egg into the mixture.
  6. 6. Let the semolina mixture cool down completely.
  7. 7. Scoop small dumplings from the cooled mixture.
  8. 8. Place the dumplings into a pot of boiling salted water.
  9. 9. Let the dumplings cook through for about 8 minutes.
  10. 10. Melt the butter in a small pot.
  11. 11. Toast the almonds and poppy seeds in the butter for 2 to 3 minutes.
  12. 12. Remove the pot from the heat.
  13. 13. Mix the sugar and cinnamon with the toasted mixture.
  14. 14. Lift the finished dumplings out of the water with a slotted spoon.
  15. 15. Pour the poppy seed butter over the dumplings.
  16. 16. Serve the dish with plum compote as desired.
