🍰 Crispy Apple Pockets Made from Puff Pastry

Ingredients
- 450 g puff pastry (frozen) 10 slices
- 4 tart apples
- juice of one lemon
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp slivered almonds
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1. Let the puff pastry thaw at room temperature.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 3. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 4. Peel the apples.
- 5. Remove the core from the apples.
- 6. Cut the apples into wedges.
- 7. Drizzle the apple wedges with lemon juice.
- 8. Add cinnamon and sugar to the apples.
- 9. Mix the apple pieces well with the spices.
- 10. Distribute the apple mixture evenly over the 10 puff pastry circles.
- 11. Fold the pastry circles into triangles or square packets.
- 12. Press the edges of the pockets firmly.
- 13. Prick the edges with a fork.
- 14. Mix milk and egg yolk in a small bowl.
- 15. Brush the pockets with the milk and egg yolk mixture.
- 16. Sprinkle the pockets with sliced almonds.
- 17. Bake the pockets in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until golden brown.
- 18. Dust the finished pockets with powdered sugar if desired.
