  6. 6. Bring the vinegar to a boil with the garlic, chili peppers, and peppercorns.
  7. 7. Add the pumpkin cubes.
  8. 8. Remove the pan from the heat.
  9. 9. Let the mixture steep covered for 24 hours.
  10. 10. Stir in the sugar.
  11. 11. Simmer everything until the pumpkin is translucent but still firm.
  12. 12. Fill the mixture into pre-washed hot jars.
  13. 13. Seal the jars.
