Ingredients
- 0.5 vanilla pod
- 100 g ground almond kernels
- 50 g raw cane sugar
- 100 g spelt flour
- 100 g butter (or margarine)
Instructions
- 1. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise into two halves.
- 2. Scrape out the tiny seeds from the pod using the back of a knife.
- 3. Add the vanilla seeds, almonds, flour, and sugar to a bowl.
- 4. Mix all the dry ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
- 5. Melt the fat in a pot over medium heat.
- 6. Pour the liquid fat into the flour mixture.
- 7. Stir the fat in well until it is evenly distributed.
- 8. Shape the crumbly mixture into small crumbs using your hands.
- 9. Use the crumbs as a topping for fruit cakes or fruit crumbles.
