  2. 2. Scrape out the tiny seeds from the pod using the back of a knife.
  3. 3. Add the vanilla seeds, almonds, flour, and sugar to a bowl.
  4. 4. Mix all the dry ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
  5. 5. Melt the fat in a pot over medium heat.
  6. 6. Pour the liquid fat into the flour mixture.
  7. 7. Stir the fat in well until it is evenly distributed.
  8. 8. Shape the crumbly mixture into small crumbs using your hands.
  9. 9. Use the crumbs as a topping for fruit cakes or fruit crumbles.
