  3. 3. Beat the soft butter together with sugar and salt until creamy.
  4. 4. Sift the flour and baking powder over the butter mixture.
  5. 5. Quickly knead the ingredients together into a dough.
  6. 6. Shape the dough into a ball.
  7. 7. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
  8. 8. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  9. 9. Thoroughly rinse the strawberries and remove the green tops.
  10. 10. Slice the strawberries.
  11. 11. Place the strawberry pieces into a large bowl.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the strawberries with sugar.
  13. 13. Whip the cream until stiff.
  14. 14. Reduce the oven temperature to 175 degrees Celsius.
  15. 15. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
  16. 16. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of about 1.5 cm.
  17. 17. Cut out round biscuits with a diameter of 6 to 7 cm.
  18. 18. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking tray.
  19. 19. Bake the shortcakes in the preheated oven at 175 degrees for about 15 minutes.
