🍽️ Christmas Boot Cookies

Ingredients
- 100 g Sugar
- 300 g Flour
- 200 g cold Butter
- 1 packet Vanilla Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 150 Powdered Sugar
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Silver Pearl
Instructions
- 1. Mound the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest on your work surface.
- 2. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
- 3. Place the egg into the well.
- 4. Arrange the butter in small pieces around the egg.
- 5. Process everything with a large knife until it forms a crumbly mixture.
- 6. Quickly knead the crumbly mixture with your hands to form a dough.
- 7. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
- 8. Store the dough in the refrigerator or in a cool place between 0 and 10 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes.
- 9. Press the dough slightly flat on a floured work surface.
- 10. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 to 4 millimeters.
- 11. Lift the dough from the surface with a spatula as needed.
- 12. Cut out 10 boot shapes from the dough.
- 13. Cut or stamp small leaf-shaped cookies from the remaining dough.
- 14. Place the boots and leaves on a baking sheet.
- 15. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 16. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- 17. Remove the cookies from the oven while still warm.
- 18. Place the warm cookies on a wire rack using a spatula.
- 19. Allow the cookies to cool completely.
- 20. Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to create a glaze.
- 21. Brush the cooled boots with the glaze.
- 22. Fill the remaining glaze into a small piping bag.
- 23. Decorate the boots and leaf cookies with the glaze.
- 24. Optionally decorate the cookies with sugar pearls.
