  1. 1. Rinse the fish thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. 2. Season the fish inside and out with salt and pepper.
  3. 3. Rinse a lemon under hot water and dry it thoroughly.
  4. 4. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
  5. 5. Drizzle the fish with the lemon juice.
  6. 6. Brush the fish with oil.
  7. 7. Stuff the fish generously with fresh dill.
  8. 8. Butter the wooden skewers so the fish does not stick.
  9. 9. Thread the fish onto the skewers with the head facing forward.
  10. 10. Stick the skewers into the ground about 30 centimeters away from the embers.
  11. 11. Grill the fish for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on their size.
  12. 12. Rotate the skewers frequently while cooking.
  13. 13. Brush the fish with oil repeatedly during grilling.
  14. 14. Serve the grilled fish with potato salad if you like.
