🍽️ Crispy Steak Bites with Golden Potato Cubes

Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks (e.g. loin, each 180-200 g)
- coarse pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- 300 g mostly waxy potatoes
- 3 shallots
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes.
- 2. Cut the peeled potatoes into small cubes of about one centimeter in size.
- 3. Put half of the olive oil into a non-stick pan and heat it.
- 4. Fry the potato cubes over medium heat for about ten minutes until golden brown.
- 5. Peel the shallots.
- 6. Cut the shallots into wedges by dividing them into eighths.
- 7. Add the shallot wedges to the potatoes in the pan.
- 8. Continue frying the vegetables until the potatoes are still slightly firm.
- 9. Season the meat with coarse pepper.
- 10. Heat the remaining oil in a second pan, preferably a grill pan.
- 11. Sear the meat in the hot oil for two minutes on each side.
- 12. Turn off the heat source.
- 13. Place a lid on the pan.
- 14. Let the meat cook through in the covered pan until it reaches the desired internal temperature (medium or well-done).
- 15. Season the finished meat with salt.
- 16. Warm the serving plates.
- 17. Serve the meat together with the potatoes and shallots on the warm plates.
