🍽️ Crispy Steak Baguette with Vegetables

Ingredients
- 400 g beef fillet
- 1 green bell pepper
- 100 g mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 1 baguette
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 200 g cheese (from a spray bottle; or processed cheese slices)
- salt
- pepper (from a mill)
Instructions
- 1. Wrap the meat piece in plastic wrap.
- 2. Wrap the meat additionally in aluminum foil.
- 3. Place the package in the freezer for 30 minutes to let it freeze slightly.
- 4. Preheat the oven to the grill setting.
- 5. Wash the bell pepper thoroughly under running water.
- 6. Remove the stem and seeds from the bell pepper.
- 7. Cut the bell pepper into thin strips.
- 8. Clean the mushrooms of dirt or soil.
- 9. Slice the mushrooms into thin pieces.
- 10. Peel the onion.
- 11. Cut the onion into four quarters.
- 12. Cut the onion quarters into fine rings.
- 13. Take the frozen meat out of the freezer.
- 14. Cut the meat into very thin strips.
- 15. Divide the baguette into four equal pieces.
- 16. Slice the baguette pieces lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- 17. Place the baguettes in the oven.
- 18. Toast them briefly until they are crispy.
- 19. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 20. Fry the bell pepper strips and onion rings for about 2 minutes.
- 21. Remove the vegetables from the pan.
- 22. Set the vegetables aside.
- 23. Fry the meat in the remaining oil for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 24. Add the bell pepper, onions, and mushrooms back into the pan.
- 25. Distribute the cheese evenly over the meat and vegetables.
- 26. Let the cheese melt.
- 27. Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste.
- 28. Fill the crispy baguettes with the mixture.
- 29. Serve the sandwich with ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard as desired.
