🍽️ Creative Mashed Potatoes with Savoy Cabbage

Ingredients
- 500 g floury potatoes
- salt
- 300 g small pointed cabbage (0.5 small pointed cabbage)
- 2 small onions
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 100 ml milk (1.5% fat)
- pepper
- 1 piece horseradish (approx. 3 cm long)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Peel the potatoes.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
- 4. Place the potato cubes in a pot with salted water.
- 5. Bring the water to a boil.
- 6. Cover the pot.
- 7. Cook the potatoes for 20 minutes.
- 8. Remove the hard core from the Savoy cabbage.
- 9. Cut the Savoy cabbage into very fine strips.
- 10. Peel the onions.
- 11. Dice the onions finely.
- 12. Heat oil in a pan.
- 13. Add the onion cubes to the hot pan.
- 14. Sauté the onions for 2 minutes over medium heat.
- 15. Add the Savoy cabbage to the onion mixture.
- 16. Sauté the cabbage for 3 minutes while stirring constantly.
- 17. Pour the milk into the pan.
- 18. Bring the milk to a brief boil.
- 19. Season the milk with salt and pepper.
- 20. Drain the cooking water from the potatoes.
- 21. Let the potatoes steam dry for a moment.
- 22. Mash the potatoes roughly with a potato masher.
- 23. Add the mashed potatoes to the Savoy cabbage mixture.
- 24. Mix the potatoes thoroughly with the cabbage.
- 25. Peel the horseradish.
- 26. Grate the horseradish finely.
- 27. Fold the grated horseradish into the potato-cabbage mixture.
- 28. Season the dish finally with salt and pepper.
- 29. Serve the mashed potatoes immediately.
