🍳 Fruity Gooseberry Jam

Ingredients
- 400 g gooseberries
- 150 ml apple juice
- 40 ml rum (or non-alcoholic rum)
- juice of one lemon
- 500 g jam sugar
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly rinse the gooseberries under running water.
- 2. Remove the stems and the hard ends of the berries.
- 3. Let the prepared berries drain well in a sieve.
- 4. Place the gooseberries in a large cooking pot.
- 5. Pour the apple juice, rum, lemon juice, and pectin sugar over the berries.
- 6. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- 7. Let the jam boil vigorously for about five minutes.
- 8. Perform the setting test during this time to check the consistency.
- 9. Immediately fill the hot jam into clean, prepared jars.
- 10. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
- 11. Immediately turn the sealed jars upside down.
- 12. Let the jars cool down briefly in this position.
- 13. Turn the jars back over and let them cool down completely.
