Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 g butter
- 170 g apricot jam
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Mound flour, sugar, and vanilla sugar on a clean work surface into a pile.
- 2. Make a well in the center of the flour and place the egg inside.
- 3. Place the butter pieces around the edge of the flour mound.
- 4. Chop the ingredients roughly together until they are mixed.
- 5. Knead the mixture quickly into a smooth dough ball.
- 6. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 7. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- 8. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat.
- 9. Roll out the dough on the work surface to a thickness of approx. 4 millimeters.
- 10. Cut out many cookies using a large round cutter.
- 11. Cut out a hole from the center of most cookies using a smaller round cutter.
- 12. Place all cookies on a greased baking sheet.
- 13. Bake the cookies in the center of the oven for approx. 12 minutes until golden yellow.
- 14. Warm the apricot jam slightly until it becomes more fluid.
- 15. Spread the jam on the underside of the large cookies.
- 16. Place the small cookies with the hole facing up onto the large ones.
- 17. Dust the finished cookies with powdered sugar.
- 18. Let the cookies cool down completely.
