  1. 1. Mix flour, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla bean paste in a bowl.
  2. 2. Add small pieces of butter and knead everything quickly into a dough.
  3. 3. Shape the dough into a ball.
  4. 4. Wrap the ball in cling film.
  5. 5. Place the foil in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Take the dough out of the refrigerator.
  7. 7. Place two layers of cling film on your work surface.
  8. 8. Roll the dough in portions between the films to a thickness of about 3 mm.
  9. 9. Cut out many cookies using a square cookie cutter (approx. 3 x 3 cm).
  10. 10. Take half of the cookies.
  11. 11. Use a small mold to cut out a star from the center of each cookie.
  12. 12. Place all cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  13. 13. Put the tray in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  14. 14. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (conventional fan).
  15. 15. Place the tray in the center of the oven.
  16. 16. Bake the cookies for about 10 to 12 minutes.
  17. 17. Take the tray out of the oven.
  18. 18. Let the cookies cool down completely.
  19. 19. Warm the jam in a small pot.
  20. 20. Press the warm jam through a fine sieve to remove lumps.
  21. 21. Spread the jam onto the cookies without the star cutout.
  22. 22. Place the remaining cookies (with the star cutout) on top.
  23. 23. Lightly dust the finished cookies with powdered sugar.
