🥤 Spicy Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
- 5 g chili peppers
- 30 g ginger (whole piece)
- 1 vanilla pod
- 70 g dark chocolate (min. 70% cocoa content, vegan)
- 400 ml almond drink (almond milk)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- cinnamon powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash the chili pepper and the ginger thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the chili pepper and the ginger into coarse pieces.
- 3. Split the vanilla pod in half lengthwise.
- 4. Scrape out the pulp (seeds) from the vanilla pod.
- 5. Set aside the vanilla pulp and the empty pods.
- 6. Chop the chocolate into coarse pieces.
- 7. Set the chopped chocolate aside as well.
- 8. Pour the almond drink into a pot.
- 9. Add the cut chili peppers and ginger to the pot.
- 10. Add the scraped vanilla pod and the empty pods to the pot.
- 11. Add the cinnamon sticks to the pot.
- 12. Add the star anise to the pot.
- 13. Heat the mixture in the pot.
- 14. Reduce the heat to a low setting.
- 15. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 16. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- 17. Strain the spiced liquid through a sieve into a bowl.
- 18. Remove the solid spices from the sieve.
- 19. Pour the filtered liquid back into the pot.
- 20. Heat the liquid in the pot again.
- 21. Stir the vanilla pulp into the hot liquid.
- 22. Add the chopped chocolate to the hot liquid.
- 23. Stir until the chocolate has completely melted.
- 24. Divide the hot chocolate into two cups.
- 25. Sprinkle some cinnamon over each cup.
- 26. Enjoy the drink while it is hot.
