  3. 3. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes briefly.
  4. 4. Peel the skin off the tomatoes.
  5. 5. Cut the peeled tomatoes into small cubes.
  6. 6. Peel the onion and the garlic.
  7. 7. Dice the onion and garlic very finely.
  8. 8. Heat some olive oil in a pot.
  9. 9. Sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
  10. 10. Cut the bacon into thin strips.
  11. 11. Fry the bacon strips briefly with the onions.
  12. 12. Stir the tomato paste into the bacon-onion mixture.
  13. 13. Add the diced tomatoes to the pot.
  14. 14. Pour in the broth.
  15. 15. Add the thyme sprigs and paprika powder to the soup.
  16. 16. Cover the pot halfway.
  17. 17. Let the soup simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.
