🍽️ Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Ingredients
- 800 g Brussels sprouts
- salt
- 100 g smoked bacon
- 2 tbsp butter
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the Brussels sprouts under running water.
- 2. Remove any wilted outer leaves.
- 3. Trim the flat bottom end of the stem.
- 4. Make a small cross-shaped cut into the stem end with a sharp knife.
- 5. Bring a large pot of water with plenty of salt to a boil.
- 6. Add the Brussels sprouts to the boiling water.
- 7. Cook them for about 12 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- 8. Drain the water.
- 9. Rinse the sprouts immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 10. Let the water drain off well.
- 11. Cut the bacon into thin strips.
- 12. Heat butter in a large pan.
- 13. Fry the bacon strips for 2 to 3 minutes until lightly browned.
- 14. Add the drained Brussels sprouts to the pan.
- 15. Toss the sprouts in the pan until they are hot.
- 16. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of ground nutmeg.
- 17. Serve the dish immediately.
