🍽️ Grilled Asparagus with Garlic

Ingredients
- 8 garlic cloves
- 1.5 kg green asparagus
- salt
- 0.5 basil
- 0.5 thyme
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 50 ml olive oil
- pepper (from a grinder)
- parmesan shavings (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 2. Wash the asparagus thoroughly.
- 3. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus.
- 4. Peel the bottom three centimeters of the asparagus.
- 5. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- 6. Add the asparagus and garlic to the boiling water for about 5 minutes.
- 7. Remove the asparagus and garlic from the water immediately.
- 8. Place them in cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 9. Preheat your grill.
- 10. Rinse the basil briefly.
- 11. Chop the basil coarsely.
- 12. Set aside a few thyme sprigs for garnish.
- 13. Pick the leaves off the remaining thyme stems.
- 14. Mix the lemon juice with the oil.
- 15. Stir the chopped herbs into the oil-lemon mixture.
- 16. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 17. Place the asparagus and garlic on the grill.
- 18. Use an aluminum foil tray for the food if possible.
- 19. Cook the food on the grill for about 8 minutes.
- 20. Turn the food frequently to ensure even cooking.
- 21. Brush the food several times with the herb-oil mixture.
- 22. Arrange the asparagus on plates.
- 23. Drizzle the asparagus with the remaining oil.
- 24. Serve the asparagus with thin shavings of Parmesan cheese.
