🍽️ Oven-Baked Asparagus Ham Rolls

Ingredients
- Olive oil
- 500 g green asparagus
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 200 g Mozzarella
- 8 slices raw ham (e.g. Black Forest or Parma ham)
- 100 ml vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp Crème fraîche
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Lightly brush a baking dish with oil.
- 3. Peel only the bottom third of the asparagus stalks.
- 4. Cut the asparagus stalks in half lengthwise.
- 5. Season the asparagus pieces with salt and pepper.
- 6. Arrange the asparagus pieces into four small bundles.
- 7. Cut the mozzarella into thin strips.
- 8. Place the mozzarella strips on top of the asparagus bundles.
- 9. Wrap each portion tightly with a slice of ham.
- 10. Secure the rolls with toothpicks so they do not unravel.
- 11. Place the rolls side by side in the prepared baking dish.
- 12. Brush the outside of the rolls lightly with oil again.
- 13. Whisk the broth smoothly with the crème fraîche.
- 14. Pour the liquid into the baking dish.
- 15. Bake the rolls in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- 16. Turn the rolls occasionally during the baking time.
- 17. Add more liquid if necessary, as it may evaporate quickly.
- 18. Remove the toothpicks before serving.
- 19. Finally, adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
