🍽️ Asparagus Ham Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 kg white asparagus
- 300 g Parma ham (sliced paper-thin)
- Olive oil cold-pressed (preferably organic quality)
- sugar
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the asparagus thoroughly.
- 2. Cut off the tough, woody ends of the stalks.
- 3. Pour 3 liters of water into a large pot.
- 4. Stir 2 tablespoons of sugar into the water.
- 5. Add 3 tablespoons of salt.
- 6. Bring the liquid to a boil.
- 7. Cook the asparagus in it for about 20 minutes.
- 8. Remove the asparagus from the pot.
- 9. Let the asparagus drain well.
- 10. Lay a ham slice flat on your work surface.
- 11. Place one asparagus spear crosswise on the ham slice.
- 12. Roll the ham tightly around the asparagus.
- 13. Repeat this for all asparagus stalks.
- 14. Place the finished rolls on plates.
- 15. Drizzle 3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil over each roll.
- 16. Season the dish with black pepper.
- 17. Serve the rolls immediately.
