🍽️ Asparagus with Sage and Ham

Ingredients
- 2 kg white asparagus
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 pinch sugar
- 200 g butter
- 15 small sage leaves
- 50 g raw ham
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the asparagus thoroughly and cut off the woody ends. Bring plenty of water with salt, butter, and sugar to a boil and cook the asparagus for about 18 minutes.
- 2. Lift the asparagus out of the water with a slotted spoon and let it drain.
- 3. Melt butter in a pan and skim off the foam. Wash the sage leaves, pat them dry, and fry them in 1 tbsp of butter. Pour in the remaining butter, cut the ham into thin strips, fold them into the sage butter, and season with pepper.
