  3. 3. Finely chop two garlic cloves as well.
  4. 4. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  5. 5. Sauté the onions and garlic in the oil.
  6. 6. Pour hot water over the tomatoes.
  7. 7. Immediately shock the tomatoes with cold water.
  8. 8. Remove the skin from the tomatoes.
  9. 9. Quarter the tomatoes.
  10. 10. Remove the seeds from the tomato quarters.
  11. 11. Finely chop the tomato flesh.
  12. 12. Add the chopped tomatoes to the onion-garlic mixture.
  13. 13. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 15 minutes.
  14. 14. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  15. 15. Drain the capers.
  16. 16. Stir the capers into the sauce.
  17. 17. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions.
  18. 18. Drain the pasta water.
  19. 19. Mix the spaghetti with the tomato sauce.
  20. 20. Pluck the marjoram leaves from the stems.
  21. 21. Sprinkle the marjoram leaves over the spaghetti.
  22. 22. Grate Parmesan cheese over the dish.
  23. 23. Season with freshly ground pepper.
