  1. 1. Peel the onion and garlic and chop both ingredients very finely.
  2. 2. Peel the carrots and cut them into small, fine cubes.
  3. 3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan.
  4. 4. Add the chopped onions to the hot pan and sauté them until translucent.
  5. 5. Add the minced meat and fry it until crumbly, stirring constantly.
  6. 6. Add the tomatoes, carrot cubes, and lemon zest to the pan.
  7. 7. Season the sauce generously with salt and pepper.
  8. 8. Cover the pan and let the sauce simmer on low heat for 30 to 40 minutes.
  9. 9. Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water according to package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite).
