🍽️ Fresh Spätzle Made from Scratch

Ingredients
- 400 g flour
- salt
- 4 eggs
- nutmeg
- 100 ml milk
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- 1. Fill a large pot with plenty of water.
- 2. Add a generous amount of salt to the water.
- 3. Place the pot on the stove and heat the water.
- 4. Wait until the water is boiling vigorously.
- 5. Take a large bowl.
- 6. Add the flour to the bowl.
- 7. Crack the eggs into the bowl.
- 8. Grate some nutmeg over the mixture.
- 9. Pour in the milk.
- 10. Add a small pinch of salt.
- 11. Stir the ingredients quickly with a spoon.
- 12. Form a firm dough.
- 13. Set the bowl aside.
- 14. Let the dough rest for ten minutes.
- 15. Take the spätzle press.
- 16. Fill the dough into the press.
- 17. Hold the press over the boiling water.
- 18. Press the dough through the opening in small portions.
- 19. Let the spätzle pieces fall into the water.
- 20. Continue cooking the spätzle.
- 21. Wait until the spätzle rise to the surface of the water.
- 22. This only takes a few minutes.
- 23. Take a slotted spoon.
- 24. Lift the spätzle out of the water.
- 25. Let the excess water drain off.
- 26. Melt some butter in a pan.
- 27. Add the spätzle to the melted butter.
- 28. Toss the spätzle so they coat themselves with the butter.
