  1. 1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and carefully add the eggs. Boil them until hard-boiled. Remove them and rinse immediately with cold water to make peeling easier. Lightly crack the shell in several places to allow the marinade to penetrate better. Place the eggs in a clean jar.
  2. 2. Peel the onion and slice it into rings. Add the onion rings, juniper berries, peppercorns, and bay leaves to a pot. Add red wine vinegar, salt, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil. Pour the hot liquid over the eggs in the jar until they are completely covered.
