🍽️ Delicious Beginner Beef Goulash

Ingredients
- 250 g Carrots (3 Carrots)
- 150 g Celeriac (1 piece)
- 3 Onions
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 600 g Beef goulash
- 45 g Tomato paste (3 tbsp)
- 600 ml Meat broth
- 0.5 tsp Peppercorns
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tsp Paprika powder
- 1 tsp Marjoram
- 1 sprig Rosemary
Instructions
- 1. Wash the carrots and celery stalks under running water.
- 2. Peel the carrots and celery completely.
- 3. Cut the vegetables into small, even cubes.
- 4. Peel the onions.
- 5. Slice the onions into thin strips.
- 6. Heat the oil in a large pot.
- 7. Sear the meat over high heat for 5 minutes.
- 8. Add the prepared vegetables to the meat.
- 9. Fry the vegetables vigorously for another 5 minutes.
- 10. Stir constantly.
- 11. Scrape the browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
- 12. Add the tomato paste.
- 13. Continue stirring the tomato paste for 4 minutes.
- 14. Wait until the tomato paste caramelizes slightly.
- 15. The tomato paste should have taken on a nice brown color.
- 16. Deglaze the mixture with 50 ml of broth.
- 17. Let the mixture simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 18. Stir the mixture occasionally.
- 19. Pour the remaining broth into the pot.
- 20. Season the sauce with salt.
- 21. Season the sauce with pepper.
- 22. Add whole peppercorns.
- 23. Add paprika powder.
- 24. Add marjoram.
- 25. Add rosemary.
- 26. Cover the pot.
- 27. Let the goulash simmer on low heat.
- 28. The cooking time is about 1 1/2 hours.
- 29. The sauce should become creamy.
- 30. Stir the goulash occasionally.
- 31. Adjust the goulash with salt at the end.
- 32. Adjust the goulash with pepper at the end.
