🍰 Classic Butter Cookies with Anchor Motif

Ingredients
- 400 g wheat flour Type 1050
- 10 g flour for working
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 70 g whole cane sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 190 g cold butter
- 0.5 vanilla pod
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour and baking powder onto a clean work surface using a sieve.
- 2. Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl and sprinkle the mixture evenly over the flour.
- 3. Cut the butter into small cubes and distribute them over the flour mixture.
- 4. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife.
- 5. Add the vanilla seeds to the flour mixture and crack the eggs into the center.
- 6. Quickly knead the ingredients by hand until you have a smooth dough.
- 7. If the dough seems too dry, add a small splash of cold water.
- 8. Wrap the dough in a damp kitchen towel and chill it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- 9. Divide the chilled dough into two equal parts and knead them briefly.
- 10. Lightly dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough portions thinly.
- 11. Use an anchor-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
- 12. Place the cut-out cookies on baking sheets lined with baking paper.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced).
- 14. Bake the cookies one after another for about 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
- 15. Remove the trays, lift the baking paper with the cookies off the trays, and let them cool completely.
