🍰 Caramelized Apples with Almond Crust

Ingredients
- 150 g chopped almond kernels
- 6 Apples (e.g. Golden Delicious)
- 500 g Sugar
- 2 tsp white vinegar
- red food coloring
Instructions
- 1. Spread the almonds out flat on a plate. Wash the apples thoroughly and pat them dry. Remove the stem and insert a sturdy wooden skewer into each apple.
- 2. Put the sugar, about 70 milliliters of water, and the vinegar into a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil quickly and let it bubble until a thick syrup forms. Take half of the liquid if you like and color it with a few drops of food coloring.
- 3. Dip the apples one by one into the syrup. Turn and roll them until they are completely coated. Then roll them in the almonds until they are fully covered. Place them on a tray lined with baking paper and let them cool down.
