🍽️ Grilled Shrimp Skewers with Melon and Strawberry-Chili Salsa

Ingredients
- 200 g strawberries
- 1 small green chili pepper
- 0.5 red onion
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chopped basil
- salt

- 1 cantaloupe melon
- 1 honeydew melon
- 400 g large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail segment left on)
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp dried thyme
- 0.5 tsp dried rosemary
- salt
- white pepper
Instructions
- 1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the green stems.
- 2. Dice the strawberries into small cubes.
- 3. Rinse the chili pepper and cut it open.
- 4. Remove the seeds and the inside of the chili.
- 5. Finely chop the deseeded chili.
- 6. Peel the onion and remove the outer layers.
- 7. Dice the onion into fine cubes.
- 8. Place the diced strawberries, chopped chili, and onions into a bowl.
- 9. Add the juice of a lime, oil, and fresh basil to the mixture.
- 10. Stir everything well to combine the salsa.
- 11. Season the salsa with salt and pepper to taste.
- 12. Cut the melons in half.
- 13. Scoop out the seeds from the melon using a spoon.
- 14. Use a melon baller to scoop out balls from the melon flesh.
- 15. Rinse the shrimp under running water.
- 16. Pat the shrimp dry with a kitchen towel.
- 17. Thread one shrimp ball and one melon ball alternately onto a skewer.
- 18. Peel the garlic and remove the skins.
- 19. Press the garlic directly into the oil.
- 20. Add oregano, thyme, and rosemary to the garlic oil.
- 21. Stir the herbs well into the oil.
- 22. Season the herb oil with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- 23. Brush the skewers evenly with the herb oil.
- 24. Place the skewers on the hot grill.
- 25. Grill the skewers for 5 to 8 minutes.
- 26. Turn the skewers regularly while grilling.
- 27. Remove the skewers from the grill once they are cooked.
- 28. Place the prepared strawberry-chili salsa on the plate.
- 29. Place the grilled skewers on top of the salsa.
- 30. Serve the dish immediately while warm.
