Ingredients
- 400 g flour
- 250 g brown sugar
- 2 pinches salt
- 300 g butter
Instructions
- 1. Put the flour, sugar, and salt into a large bowl.
- 2. Add the butter.
- 3. Work the butter into the dry ingredients using a dough scraper.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap.
- 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 8. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 9. Roll the dough evenly to a thickness of 1 to 2 centimeters.
- 10. Shape the dough into a rectangle.
- 11. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet.
- 12. Prick the dough in rows with a fork or a toothpick.
- 13. Bake the shortbread for 20 to 30 minutes until golden yellow.
- 14. Cut the hot pastry into strips of about 2 by 8 centimeters.
- 15. Let the strips cool on a rack.
