🍽️ Crispy Oven Potatoes with Garlic and Chili

Ingredients
- 1 kg mostly waxy potatoes
- 1 tsp baking powder
- salt
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 small onion
- 30 ml olive oil
- 1 lime (juice)
- 1 tsp chili flakes
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Peel the potatoes if you prefer, or leave the skin on.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes.
- 4. Place the potato cubes into a pot.
- 5. Cover the potatoes with water.
- 6. Bring the water to a boil.
- 7. Add one teaspoon of baking powder to the boiling water.
- 8. Add one teaspoon of salt to the water.
- 9. Boil the potatoes for 5 to 7 minutes.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius (conventional heat).
- 11. Set the fan force to 200 degrees Celsius if using fan-assisted cooking.
- 12. Set the gas oven to level 3 to 4 if using gas.
- 13. Place a baking tray in the oven to heat up along with it.
- 14. Drain the cooking water from the potatoes.
- 15. Peel the garlic clove.
- 16. Peel the onion.
- 17. Finely chop the garlic.
- 18. Finely chop the onion.
- 19. Add the chopped garlic to the drained potatoes.
- 20. Add the chopped onion to the potatoes.
- 21. Add olive oil to the mixture.
- 22. Add lime juice to the mixture.
- 23. Add one teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
- 24. Add chili flakes to the mixture.
- 25. Place a lid on the pot.
- 26. Shake the pot vigorously to mix everything well.
- 27. Remove the hot baking tray from the oven.
- 28. Spread the potato mixture evenly on the hot tray.
- 29. Place the tray back into the oven.
- 30. Bake the potatoes for 25 to 30 minutes.
- 31. Remove the potatoes when they are golden brown.
