🍳 Crunchy Sesame Rings

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 cube yeast (21 g)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 200 g sesame
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Make a well in the center of the flour.
- 3. Sprinkle the salt around the edge of the well.
- 4. Pour the oil directly into the well.
- 5. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in about 300 milliliters of lukewarm water.
- 6. Pour the yeast mixture onto the flour.
- 7. Knead everything well until the dough releases from the sides of the bowl.
- 8. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 10. Knead the dough well again after it has risen.
- 11. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces.
- 12. Roll each piece into a strand about 30 centimeters long.
- 13. Take two strands at a time and twist them around each other.
- 14. Press the ends of the strands together firmly to seal them.
- 15. Fill a shallow dish with lukewarm water.
- 16. Spread the sesame seeds on a plate.
- 17. Dip the dough rings briefly into the water.
- 18. Press the wet rings into the sesame seeds on both sides.
- 19. Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 20. Bake the rings in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
