🍽️ Sesame Sushi Rice

Ingredients
- 250 g Sushi rice
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 4 spring onions
- 3 sheets roasted nori seaweed
- 20 g sushi ginger
- 1 red chili pepper
- 2 eggs (M)
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 4 tbsp rice vinegar
- 0.5 tsp raw cane sugar
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the rice in a sieve under running water.
- 2. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.
- 3. Toast the sesame seeds in a small pan without fat until golden brown.
- 4. Remove the sesame seeds from the pan and set them aside.
- 5. Clean the spring onions and wash them.
- 6. Finely chop the spring onions.
- 7. Crumble the nori seaweed finely with your fingers.
- 8. Place the nori seaweed on a small plate.
- 9. Let the ginger slices drain on kitchen paper.
- 10. Clean the chili pepper.
- 11. Halve the chili pepper lengthwise.
- 12. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper.
- 13. Wash the chili pepper.
- 14. Slice the chili pepper into thin slices.
- 15. Place the eggs in a bowl.
- 16. Add 1 tbsp of soy sauce to the eggs.
- 17. Whisk the eggs well with a whisk.
- 18. Heat oil in a large non-stick pan.
- 19. Pour the egg mixture into the pan.
- 20. Cook the omelette over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.
- 21. Let the omelette set.
- 22. Remove the omelette from the pan.
- 23. Place the omelette on the cutting board.
- 24. Let the omelette cool down a bit.
- 25. Roll up the omelette.
- 26. Cut the omelette into thin strips.
- 27. Add rice vinegar and remaining soy sauce to a bowl.
- 28. Add the sugar to the bowl.
- 29. Stir the sauces and sugar well.
- 30. Add the chili slices to the sauce mixture.
- 31. Add half of the sesame seeds to the sauce mixture.
- 32. Add the drained ginger slices to the sauce mixture.
- 33. Add the spring onions to the sauce mixture.
- 34. Fold the sauce mixture into the rice.
- 35. Fold the omelette strips into the rice.
- 36. Season everything with salt and pepper.
- 37. Sprinkle the nori seaweed over the rice.
- 38. Sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds over the rice.
- 39. Serve the rice.
