🍽️ Chicken Skewers with Sesame Crust

Ingredients
- 500 g chicken breast fillet
- 1 lemon
- 0.5 red chili pepper
- 0.5 vanilla pod
- pepper
- 1 tbsp liquid honey
- salt
- 75 ml rapeseed oil
- 125 g peeled sesame seeds
- basil (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken breast under cold water and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the meat into cubes of about 2 to 3 cm.
- 3. Wash the lemon under hot water and pat it dry.
- 4. Finely grate the lemon zest and squeeze out the juice.
- 5. Wash the chili, remove the seeds, and chop it very finely.
- 6. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
- 7. Mix the lemon zest, lemon juice, pepper, chili, honey, salt, vanilla seeds, and 2 tablespoons of oil in a bowl.
- 8. Add the meat cubes to the marinade and mix everything well.
- 9. Let the marinated meat cubes sit covered in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 10. Pour the sesame seeds onto a shallow plate.
- 11. Heat the remaining oil in a large frying pan.
- 12. Roll the meat cubes in the sesame seeds so they are coated all over.
- 13. Shake off any excess sesame seeds.
- 14. Thread 3 to 4 meat cubes onto short skewers.
- 15. Fry the skewers in the hot oil for about 5 minutes, turning them until golden brown on all sides.
- 16. Sprinkle the finished skewers with the remaining sesame seeds and fresh basil leaves.
