🍽️ Serbian Rice and Turkey Skillet

Ingredients
- 500 g turkey breast fillet
- 400 g red bell peppers (2 red bell peppers)
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- salt
- pepper
- 1 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
- 1 tsp paprika powder (hot)
- 200 g long-grain rice
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 600 ml poultry broth
- 400 g pizza tomatoes (can)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the turkey breast under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the turkey breast into approx. 2 cm cubes.
- 4. Wash the bell peppers and halve them.
- 5. Remove the seeds and white pith from the bell peppers.
- 6. Dice the deseeded bell peppers into small cubes.
- 7. Peel the onions.
- 8. Finely chop the onions.
- 9. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 10. Finely chop the garlic.
- 11. Heat the oil in a heavy pot.
- 12. Sear the meat over high heat.
- 13. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 14. Add the onions, garlic, and pepper cubes to the pot.
- 15. Fry the vegetables for 1 more minute.
- 16. Sprinkle paprika powder over the mixture.
- 17. Add the rice to the pot.
- 18. Stir in the tomato paste.
- 19. Pour in the broth and the pizza tomatoes.
- 20. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 21. Reduce the heat to medium.
- 22. Cover the pot.
- 23. Let the dish cook for 20 minutes.
- 24. Stir the dish several times during cooking.
- 25. Season the rice dish to taste with salt and pepper.
- 26. Serve the dish immediately.
