🍽️ Crispy Celery and Apple Salad with Nuts

Ingredients
- 3 sour apples
- Juice of one lemon
- 250 g celery stalks
- 1 small head endive
- 3 slices loose whole grain bread (e.g. Graham bread)
- 100 g whipping cream
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise (ready-made)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 pinch sugar
- 125 g walnut kernels
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the apples into quarters.
- 3. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 4. Dice the cored apple quarters into small cubes.
- 5. Set aside a few apple quarters for garnish.
- 6. Drizzle the apple cubes with lemon juice immediately.
- 7. Wash the celery.
- 8. Remove the tough strings and the end of the stalk.
- 9. Slice the celery into thin rounds.
- 10. Separate the lettuce heads into individual leaves.
- 11. Wash the lettuce leaves.
- 12. Remove any wilted or damaged leaves.
- 13. Dry the lettuce leaves thoroughly.
- 14. Cut the dry lettuce leaves into thin strips.
- 15. Cut the bread into small cubes.
- 16. Whip the cream until it is semi-stiff.
- 17. Stir the mayonnaise into the cream gradually.
- 18. Mix the mixture until a smooth and creamy sauce forms.
- 19. Season the sauce with salt.
- 20. Season the sauce with pepper.
- 21. Season the sauce with a pinch of sugar.
- 22. Mix the salad dressing with the apple pieces.
- 23. Mix the salad dressing with the celery slices.
- 24. Mix the salad dressing with the lettuce strips.
- 25. Mix the salad dressing with the bread cubes.
- 26. Place the finished salad into a bowl.
- 27. Garnish the salad with the reserved apple quarters.
- 28. Sprinkle walnut kernels over the salad.
