  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the rhubarb under running water.
  2. 2. Cut off the hard ends of the rhubarb.
  3. 3. Remove the fibrous strings from the stalks.
  4. 4. Cut the vegetable into pieces about 4 centimeters in size.
  5. 5. Place the rhubarb pieces into a pot.
  6. 6. Add the sugar and 500 milliliters of water.
  7. 7. Heat the mixture on the stove.
  8. 8. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  9. 9. Remove the pot from the heat.
  10. 10. Let the liquid steep for 30 minutes.
  11. 11. Strain the rhubarb mixture through a fine sieve.
  12. 12. Pour the syrup into a previously boiled bottle.
  13. 13. Seal the bottle tightly.
  14. 14. Place the bottle in a cool spot.
  15. 15. Place the elderflowers into a clean pot.
  16. 16. Add the sugar and 500 milliliters of water again.
  17. 17. Heat the mixture until the sugar has dissolved.
  18. 18. Strain the flower mixture through a fine sieve.
  19. 19. Pour the syrup into a clean, boiled bottle.
  20. 20. Seal the bottle tightly.
  21. 21. Place the bottle in a cool spot.
