  1. 1. Put the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Mix the dry ingredients well.
  3. 3. Cut the butter into small cubes.
  4. 4. Rub the butter cubes into the flour mixture with your fingertips.
  5. 5. Continue until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  6. 6. Stir the sugar into the butter-flour mixture.
  7. 7. Make a small well in the center of the bowl.
  8. 8. Pour the milk into the well.
  9. 9. Mix everything gently into a dough.
  10. 10. Lightly flour your work surface.
  11. 11. Knead the dough briefly with your hands until it is smooth.
  12. 12. Add a little more flour or milk if necessary.
  13. 13. Work until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  14. 14. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (convection mode).
  15. 15. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  16. 16. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
  17. 17. Roll the dough pieces into round buns.
  18. 18. Place the buns on the tray with some space between them.
  19. 19. Bake the scones in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
  20. 20. Check the cooking time with a wooden skewer.
  21. 21. Remove the scones from the oven as soon as they are golden brown.
